Camel handlers and their charges watch in surprise an unexpected event in front of them at Al Sawan Camel racetrack in Ras Al Khaimah. Camel racing is one of the cornerstones of Emirati culture and Al Sawan is one of the few remaining traditional venues in the UAE where the unique sport is practiced without modern adornment.
